Philadelphia Phillies vs Houston Astros preview

- 26 Aug 2010

Philadelphia are still unable to make up ground on the Atlanta Braves

It seems as though the Philadelphia Phillies have been 2.5 games back of Atlanta for ages as Philly have been unable to make up ground lately in the NL East.  Atlanta have been on the road lately and, as usual, they have been losing on the road as they have dropped 3 straight.

However Philadelphia have not taken advantage of the chance to get closer in the NL East as the Phillies have lost 3 straight as well.

Philadelphia will host Houston on Thursday in an early game for Major League Baseball that starts at 1:05pm ET.  The pitching match-up features Wandy Rodriguez for Houston (9-12, 4.00) vs Kyle Hendrick (8-6, 4.58) for Philadelphia.

Kendrick, it should be pointed out, has not been the most reliable pitcher lately and he doesn't do well against the left handers, of which Houston has plenty.

Opening odds with bet365 look great for those looking to back Houston as that sportsbook have the Astros priced at +160 (8/5).

With that edge our recommendation is to take Houston to win this game with bet365.  Those looking to back Philadelphia will find their best odds with Ladbrokes at -165 (use F25 as your promo code with Ladbrokes).
