MLB - Giants at Phillies Tips (ESPN 1.15am)

The Philadelphia Phillies lost a close one to the San Francisco Giants last night as Roy Halladay's arm was wasted in the Philadelphia rotation.

The Phillies, despite being down a game, do remain the favorites to win the 2010 NLCS and if last night's quality was any kind of indicator of things to come, the National League Championship Series should be very entertaining this year.

Roy Oswalt gets the start for the Phillies tonight in a game that will begin at 8pm ET. He is only 13-13 on the year but any Philadelphia fan will tell you that he has been dynamite since joining the Phillies and his mediocre record is due to a lack of run support in Houston from earlier this season.

Oswalt is a much better pitcher than Jonathan Sanchez for San Francisco but Sanchez has been hot lately as he only gave up 1 earned run in his start against Atlanta in the NLDS while striking out 11 in just 7.1 innings of work.

What will give San Francisco confidence heading into this game is the fact that Sanchez won his two starts against the Phillies this season as he tossed a combined 13 innings while only giving up 5 hits.

Philadelphia are in real danger of falling behind 0-2 in this series and Oswalt needs to come up big in this game.

Betting odds make the Phillies -155 favorites (Boylesports) while 'cisco is coming in at +151 (bet365).

Our recommendation for this game is to bet the Giants on an adjusted point spread.  Bet365 have them with a handicap of +2.5 and odds of -270 and that is our recommended play to make for game 2.
