International Rules betting Visit Paddy Power Save For Later Posted by Pete Culshaw 21 Oct 2008 Tweet Related Articles See all AFL news Share it Pin It Paddy Power have made Australia 4/7 favourites to win this year’s International Rules first test and even hotter favourites at 4/9 to win the series. With just three days to go until this year’s International Rules 1st Test between Australia and Ireland, tensions are sure to be running high in the Irish camp. It’s the first time, since 2006, the two sides will face each other. Violent scenes in the 2005 and 2006 games placed the series in jeopardy and tougher rules were introduced ahead of the 2008 series. Aussie captain Brent Harvey insisted physicality would remain a major part of his teams approach, hence the odds of 4/7 that the first player sent off will be Australian. Paddy Power also offer a cautious 3/1 that no series is played in the next three years. Physicality is the least of Ireland’s worries. Six of Boylan’s men only touched down in Perth today having been delayed at home with club commitments. If that wasn’t enough, temperatures have soared into the 30’s in Australia, making it very tough playing conditions for the Irish side. Paddy Power said: “Boylan’s men will have a tough task down under, what with weather conditions and late arrivals but maybe the change in rules and the fact they’ll skip a warm-up game will work in their favour. The first test will be crucial as previous form shows the Aussies always perform better in the second test.” International Rules 2008 Series betting 4/9 Australia 13/8 Ireland 1st Test betting 4/7 Australia 16/1 Draw 11/8 Ireland Read our Paddy Power review Get your £250 free bet at Paddypower Like Like Post to wall 421 Reads All AFL News Recent AFL Articles Mitchell Golby second favourite for AFL Rising Star Awards22 May 2012After being nominated as the Round 8 Rising Star, Brisbane’s Mitchell Golby looms as a smokey to wi Coleman Medal Winner odds: Lance Franklin hot favourite to win Medal17 May 2012The latest Coleman Medal Winner odds suggest Taylor Walker’s suspension means he’s unlikely to win Collingwood Magpies v Geelong Cats betting tips: Big gamble on the Pies17 May 2012Collingwood Magpies face Geelong Cats on Friday, with Sportsbet.com.au reporting a flood of bets fo AFL Premiership Round 8 betting: bookies can’t split Collingwood and Geelong15 May 2012The AFL Premiership has reached Round 8, with Collingwood and Geelong set for a close encounter on Brownlow Medal Winner odds: Scott Pendlebury favourite for Brownlow Medal15 May 2012The 2012 Brownlow Medal looks a wide open contest, with Scott Pendlebury, Marc Murphy and Dane Swan AFL Wooden Spoon betting - GWS Giants favourites to win14 May 2012Despite winning their first game, the GWS Giants are still favourites to win the wooden spoon, drif More Stories Recent Articles London 2012 Olympic Games - Ryan Giggs wants Team GB role with David Beckham22 May 2012Ryan Giggs has expressed his desire to link up with former Manchester United team-mate David Beckha Crowne Plaza Invitational tips - 28/1 Bo Van Pelt the best bet at Colonial22 May 2012Bo Van Pelt can give his regular backers their first return of the year in the Crowne Plaza Invitat BMW PGA Championship tips - 33/1 Ernie Els set for overdue Wentworth win22 May 2012Ernie Els can finally gain the big victory his form this year deserves by winning the BMW PGA Champ BMW Championship Betting – Big names headed to Wentworth22 May 2012Fourteen Major winners feature in a strong line-up for this week’s BMW Championship.
