Greene added the IAAF world crown to his 2010 European title and saw his price to complete the set in London chopped after an impressive display against a strong field. Earlier, Hannah England earned a surprise medal when she won silver in the 1500m, making her 12/1 to win gold in London. Her win at the World Championships has put her ahead of fellow Brit Lisa Dobriskey (16/1) to win gold and she is 2/1 to finish on the podium next year. Sky Bet’s athletics trader Ben Wright reckons Greene is firm favourite to win gold on home soil, but England could find it tough at London 2012 and told Bettingpro: “Dai Greene has blossomed into a world class athlete since his disappointing finish in the 2009 World Championships. “Dai's win cost us a lot here at Sky Bet, but it was pleasing to see a British athlete finally do enough to win gold at these championships. Going into the Olympics next year, he will be the deserved favourite in a very tough event.” He added: “Hannah England really went to the World Championships final as a total underdog, so a silver medal was a real surprise. “The race was the slowest 1500m final ever at the World Championships, and she really ran a perfect race. The Olympics will be tougher next year, but it's great to see and underdog win a medal.” Read our SkyBet review Get a £10 free bet (no deposit) plus £50 free (cash match) at Skybet Like Like Post to wall 248 Reads All Athletics News Recent Athletics Articles London to host 2017 World Athletics Championships11 Nov 2011London has been named as the host city for the 2017 World Athletics Championships.
