Middlesbrough travel to Lancashire at the weekend brimming with confidence, having yet to lose a Championship game this season.

Burnley on the other hand haven’t quite clicked into gear under young manager Eddie Howe, but there won’t be too many panicking at this early stage.

Despite winning only once in their first four League encounters, The Clarets go into this one as slight favourites.

The home side find themselves priced at 6/4 with bet365 to win, and end Boro’s excellent opening to the campaign.

Tony Mowbray’s side are valued at 9/5 with 888sport for an away win, which are very appealing odds given the impressive way in which they have opened the season.

The draw pays a standard 12/5 with Victor Chandler, and perhaps it should be noted that both teams have drawn two Championship matches already.

Ex-Swindon striker Charlie Austin is joint favourite to open the scoring, with Boylesports offering punters 11/2. Burnley’s Jay Rodriguez is the same price, after notching a couple in the League as well as four in the Carling Cup game with Burton Albion last month.

For Middlesborough Dutch winger Marvin Emnes might be worth considering at 13/2 with bet365

According to the bookmakers, the most likely outcome is for Burnley to be leading the match at both half time and indeed full time. Betfred will give you 11/4 on this happening.

A more unlikely scenario is Burnley leading at half time, only for Boro to turn it around in the second half and run out winners. This pays 33/1 with sportingbet.

The fact that each of the three possible outcomes are all valued above evens reinforces what a difficult match to predict this one could be.

I don’t think a draw at Turf Moor would come as a shock to many, and would be tempted to predict the score will be 2-2 after ninety minutes. William Hill will give you 14/1 on this outcome.
