The Canucks are the team expected to win this series and while they still lead 2-1, game four promises to be huge.

The Vancouver Canucks will be a team under pressure when the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals resume on Wednesday night.

The Canucks hold a 2-1 lead in the series but following an 8-1 loss in game three, the Boston Bruins look to be the team with the confidence.

The loss suffered by Vancouver in Boston on Monday is a little bit reminiscent of a couple losses that the Canucks took in the first round of the 2011 NHL playoffs. In the series against the Chicago Blackhawks the Canucks dropped games four and five to Chicago by a combined total of 12-2. The Canucks hit a bad patch of hockey at that point in the playoffs as they lost three straight and if the size of the spread in game three implies a similar bad patch of hockey then Vancouver's Cup dreams could be in big trouble.

Game four could be called a near must-win game for Boston. The Bruins, if they lost game four, would then have to run the tables in games five, six, and seven with two of those games being played back in Vancouver. That situation would not be promising for Boston, a franchise who have not won the Cup since 1972.

However if the Bruins can take down game four they will be the team with momentum. They will still have to win a game in Vancouver but based on how close the Bruins came to stealing a split in the first two games of the series, they would have to believe in their ability to do just that.

Game four promises to change the percentages in the Stanley Cup Finals dramatically. If the Canucks take it down, I would only give Boston about a 10% chance of winning the Cup but if the Bruins win game four I'd up that to about 45%, with Vancouver still getting a narrow edge at two games a piece because of home ice advantage.

Game four will be televised with Versus, RDS, and CBC and it will take place from the TD Center in Boston at 8pm ET on Wednesday (5pm PT).
