Victor Chandlers have already built up a huge liability on Tiger Woods winning the Open Championship but that is not going to stop the firm from continuing to take him on.

Spokesman Neal Wilkins said the firm remains fairly bullish that Tiger will not be the man picking up the Claret Jug on Sunday afternoon, "We are not panicking just yet. We intended to take Woods on this week, and at this moment in time we are happy with our position.

Although it's possible that we'll look a little red faced if he were to win but at least some high profile players have staked a first day claim."

Woods is currently on two under par after the first round, and if he were to win then the Gibraltar based firm will be licking their wounds. Wilkins added, "We will be paying out around a million pounds on Sunday night if we have got it wrong, but that's the nature of the game. Sometimes you have to stick your neck out."
