A brace of tries from Queensland representative Cooper Cronk, along with scores from Jesse Bromwich, Sisa Waqa and Matthew Duffie helped seal the win to keep them ahead of Manly Sea Eagles and St George Illawarra Dragons.

The Dragons picked up two points without playing courtesy of the bye system, while the Sea Eagles kept the pressure on with a 36-22 win over South Sydney Rabbitohs with David Williams and Kieran Foran grabbing two tries each.

Friday night’s matches saw the Parramatta Eels hammer a poor Wests Tigers outfit 22-6, while the New Zealand Warriors picked up a 22-6 triumph over rock bottom Gold Coast Titans with Manu Vatuvei grabbing the last try of the match.

Cronulla Sharks recorded a 26-12 win over Canberra Raiders on Saturday in a game that former Shark Blake Ferguson claimed he had beer thrown over him, while Sydney Roosters picked up a much-needed win over Penrith Panthers with Todd Carney helping himself to a brace of tries and five goals in a 34-26 victory.
