Beckham was famously dropped by Capello whilst the pair were together at Real Madrid, yet a series of impressive performances forced the Italian to include the former Manchester United star, who then became un-droppable in Real Madrid’s La Liga winning side. Former Arsenal striker Wright, believes that “if Michael keeps coming off the bench and scoring crucial goals at the business end of the season, there will be a real clamour for him to be back in the squad”. Comparing the situation to that of Beckham at Madrid, Wright stated, “Becks worked hard, showed a great attitude and eventually proved the Italian had got it wrong.
