England international to play despite injury
David Beckham is to have a pain-killing injection, in order to play for LA Galaxy in tonight’s MLS final against Real Salt Lake.
34-year-old Beckham is struggling with a bruised bone in his foot, but is desperate to play, in what will be his last game for Galaxy before his January transfer to AC Milan.
The England star trained on Friday, and afterwards said:
"Today was the first day I trained, unfortunately,
"It's been frustrating but with bone bruising you've got to be careful with it, not get any kicks on it.
"But I'm sure it will be fine for Sunday, it will definitely be fine. It's just one of those things you have to get through and after five or 10 minutes of the game I'm sure I'll forget all about it."
