After her 6-0, 7-5 win over former world No. 1 Jelena Jankovic, Caroline Wozniacki appears to be feeling assured about her capacity to challenge for this year’s Australian Open title. The Dane is scheduled to take on Kim Clijsters in what promises to be an extremely tough quarter-final matchup, and she believes that she has the weapons to end the Belgian’s Melbourne run.

“I don't think I have to play better (than I did against Jankovic). I think I just need to play my game and play the same way as I did today,” commented the Dane. “If I do, Kim really needs to play well to beat me. For me, it's important to think about myself and I believe I'm a great player. So if I lose to someone who just played better than me that day, it's just take my hat off and say, 'Well done', and I'll be back next time and try to do better.”

“Kim is a great player,” added Wozniacki. “She has won a lot. She's done a lot through her career. I know it's her last Australian Open, so I'm sure she will give everything. Today she had a really tough match against Li Na, and I thought you she was out. But she showed her fighter heart and showed she can come back from any score. No, it's going to be a tough one. I'm excited about it and I'm looking forward to it.”

Cljsters is currently struggling with an ankle injury, but Wozniacki isn’t allowing this to alter her mindset. “To be honest, I will just be focusing on myself,” she continued.  “She still has two days to rest, or one day, and I don't know when we will be playing the next day. But, you know, I'm sure that I just have to play my game and focus on myself.”
