With last 16 places up for grabs, there are some intriguing match-ups in Euroleague basketball on Wednesday evening.

Galatasaray Medical Park are looking to claim their berth in the last 16 by beating Union Olimpija. Their Slovenian opponents are on a five-game losing streak so will have to up their game if they are to deny Galatasaray on this occasion.

Caja Laboral are also looking for a victory to seal a place in the next round of the Euroleague, but their opponents Nancy are also fighting to stay in the competition, so this should be a thrilling encouter.

The battle to reach the Top 16 in Group B takes center stage in the Croatian capital of Zagreb, with home side KK needing to beat Unicaja to stand any chance of making it through to the next round.

EA7 Emporio Armani meanwhile, should make the most of home advantage against a Belgacom Spirou side that have no chance of advancing in the Euroleague.

There are two quarter-final matches being staged in the PBA Philippine Cup with Powerade Tigers going up against B-MEG Llamados and Talk N Text versus Barako Energy Boosters.

Powerade are facing a twice-to-beat disadvantage against top-ranked B-Meg. It is a tall order considering that the Llamados have won their last eight games to finish the elimination round with a 10-4 record.

The Tigers defeated Barako Energy 99-95 in their last elimination round game to finish with an 8-6 record.

B-Meg, meanwhile, are heavily favoured to mangle the Tigers having beaten the same club 97-80 earlier in the conference.

TNT finished second after the elimination round with a 10-4 record. They were actually tied with B-Meg but the Llamados had a superior quotient. Nevertheless, TNT has a twice-to-beat advantage over Barako.

The Tropang Texters struggled towards the latter stages of the All-Filipino tournament due to injuries to some key players. In its last game in the elimination round, the defending champions lost to Ginebra 82-96.

Barako likewise struggled towards the end of the conference and wound up with a 6-8 slate. The Energy lost to Ginebra 83-88 in their last game for their sixth setback in seven games.

There is also one key clash in the Korean Basketball League with Dongbu Promy playing host to Anyang KGC.

The Promy lead the team standings with a 21-4 record. They have also won their last five games.

Anyang, meanwhile, are in second place with a 17-7 record. They are coming off back-to-back wins over the Samsung Thunders and LG Sakers.
