Bet24 is actually a decent sportsbook, although the powers-that-be seem keen to push poker, casino and games ahead of the sports service when you first visit the site. The actual sportsbook homepage doesn’t do justice to the 6,000 betting opportunities that they have available at any given time and their range of sports and markets offered deserve to be highlighted in a better fashion.
There’s a decent free bet offer for new customers and nearly 100 pre-match betting opportunities on Champions League and Premier League soccer, something which isn’t in evidence when you first visit the site. However, the live betting has not improved in recent years and it’s still easily beaten by several of Bet24’s competitors.

Background
bet24.com was founded in 2001 by Holger Kristiansen, the man behind the Danish Odds game “Oddset-spil” which was the most successful game in Denmark during the mid-90’s. Originally bet24 offered purely sports betting services to its clients but over time the company expanded its offering to include casino and poker games. The company has clients in over 70 countries and a UK and Maltese gaming license.
Lotta Lindquist-Brosjö succeeded Holger Kristiansen as CEO of bet24 in October 2006. Lotta used to work for Ryanair in the Nordics and is building bet24's betting footprint across Europe.
The ultimate owner of Bet24 is Modern Times Group, MTG AB which owns 90% of the company. Modern Times Group is a Scandinavian based TV operator that claims to be the largest Free-TV and Pay-TV operator in Scandinavia and the Baltics as well as the largest shareholder in Russia ’s largest independent television network.
Odds and Markets
Bet24’s odds won’t give punters a huge edge, although they seem reasonable enough for core sports such as football, tennis and cricket. One suspects that, as a Swedish company, they’re more likely to be competitive on ice hockey, handball and bandy than anything else. At the time of writing, some of their football odds are standout, although one can’t help feel that’s more due to latency in updating prices than actually taking a position.
Customers will take a spectrum of views on the markets being offered, according to the matches or games in which they’re interested. If bet24 are covering a football match which might attract interest from Denmark or Sweden, you’ll get a sweet array of betting opportunities. Otherwise, you might find market range extremely limited.
Website
Unique is certainly one word to describe bet24’s website. They take the unusual step of listing the available sports in a right-hand menu whilst occupying the left-hand column with a help section and a games banner. The homepage is also unusual in that a large chunk of it is devoted to the various games being offered, while Premier League is the main sportsbook feature even on a day of big Champions League matches (although there are a couple of games’ odds listed). The live betting opportunities are also listed at the foot of the homepage.
Clicking on a sport in the right-hand column produces a list of various sub-categories where the customer is helpfully informed of how many bets are available for events like the Champions League and Premier League. Another click on the event you want means you finally see the matches and odds listed, while the bet slip functionality is neat and is clearly visible when making selections.
There is also a section devoted to In-Play betting, although it’s not the most dynamic live experience out there and no hint that the odds are ever updating.
Customer Service
Bet24 have an extensive FAQ section which covers a whole host of possible queries that a customer might have. In addition, you can contact them on a Freephone number or by telephone, while there is also a live chat facility available.
