Bwin

Summary

If you’re someone that enjoys live In-Play betting, then you should seriously check out bwin as soon as possible. Their live betting console is so well-crafted and dynamic that bet365 have borrowed the idea to create something similar and it’s true to say this bookmaker still set the benchmark for wagering when an event kicks off.

Their live streaming service is also fantastic and it’s well worth signing up with this site to watch live sport, while a free £20 bet can be claimed when you open a new bwin account and that's not to be missed!

New Customer Offer

Register a new account with bwin, make a first deposit and they will credit your account with up to 20 GBP. The bonus will be credited based on your first deposit after the account creation.

Wagering Requirement

The complete amount deposited must be placed at least once and the bonus at least 5 times on one or more sports bets exclusively at bwin before a payout is allowed.

Background

Bwin, formerly known as betandwin, was founded in 1997 and has been listed on the Stock Exchange since 2000. Based in Gibraltar, they are not particularly big in the UK but have huge presence across Europe, especially in countries such as Spain and Germany to the extent where they now claim to have over a million customers worldwide. Sponsorship deals with football clubs such as Real Madrid, AC Milan and Bayern Munich have helped this bookmaker become one of the biggest in the world.

There is no history of betting shops or a telephone operation with bwin International Limited, who entered the market in 1999 and got their current name in 2001 when the Vienna-based, publicly-listed bwin Interactive Entertainment AG took over.

Odds and Markets

bwin have a huge football offering available to their customers and, if you like betting on a range of football leagues (no matter how obscure), then this could be the bookmaker for you.  Their football traders leave no stone unturned when it comes to pricing up matches in Europe, South America and Asia, with the odds always competitive, although it must be admitted that they don’t try and stand out too much on price.

Nevertheless, customers can also choose from more than 90 sports at Bwin which blows most of the competition away. 30,000 daily bets are made available and many of them are In-Play propositions which are accompanied by live streaming, which is again outstanding and certainly provides another unique selling point.

There is also a particularly strong service for Formula 1, tennis and basketball (all popular sports in Spain). Bwin also tend to publish their odds well in advance of many competitors and this is often where you’ll find some very favourable prices.

Website

bwin's website stands out from the crowd in many respects. The focal point of the homepage is a rotating graphic, promoting upcoming events, virtually of all of which will be covered In-Play.  Staying on the live theme, you'll find a range of current In-Play events to the right-hand side, a list of sports on the left and a pre-match coupon underneath the graphic.  In short, a lot going on!

In addition, the registration and bet placement processes are very straightforward, with customers reassured that they are betting safely and securely along the way. The website is available in twenty languages and includes plenty of additional services such as live scores, statistics, results, a first bet tutorial and Bundesliga video highlights.

Customer Service

Disappointingly, English customer service is only available between 0800 and 2400 and there is no live chat facility available.  That said, the site supports 20 languages and has support for each of them, while the help section is pretty useful.
